Affirmative action is good provided it gives the results. If after 60 years of independence we still need quota then there is something seriously wrong somewhere.How has 15 years of reservation for SC/ST category helped the community? I dont think there are many cases where in a student who got benefits from the reservation has gone back to the community with some sort of vision or help. Indeed, it is our collective responsibilty to take everybody along as we progress, but In my viiew, those who reap the benefits of affirmative action.
Implementing quota in itself is so digressive and backward. Why do you wanna tell people that they are backward? Why cant the governement go back to OBC strongholds and teach students so they compete with this world. Why cant we have special schools from economically backward classes, Let the best minds in country go and teach at these schools. Nurture talent and then throw them in the rat race.
