- May 15, 2008 : HRH Arjun Singh moves to SC in order to negate the quota implementation stay.
These are just a few key dates. In between these dates there has been a lot of deliberation and lot of thought has gone before coming out with each of these orders. But, somehow, everyone involved with decision making has missed the important points.
- Are OBC’s the ones who need the quota most?
- What happens to urban poor or brahmin poor? Don’t they have a right to compete?
- Arent we discriminating the so called upper caste by giving the other castes an upper hand?
- Why not have a scholarship based system? where candidates from quota categories get scholarships and hence a fair chance to compete.
- How many of those who have got quota benefit have given back to society?
