Pagalguy.com, for many aspirants in India, is the mecca of MBA preparation. PG has probably one of the most vibrant and active communities on the Indian online scene. So, it is no surprise that PG has decided to leverage this community base to come up with its own version of Indian B school Rankings. This would be the second the year of Pagal rankings, Last years rankings were highly succesful and saw close to 6000 participants rating Indian B schools on their own terms and understanding. Last year IIM-A topped the ratings and ISB was ranked second on the list.
In a country where placement reports by B schools are fudged and B School rankings, to say the least, are ‘fixed’, PagalGuy rankings along with Career Launcher’s B School segmentation are two of the most trustworthy rankings. Methodology of two rankings is completely different, While CL ranking uses its alumni base as yardstick to measure up B schools, PagalGuy Rankings, as I said earlier, use their widely active community. What makes this ranking, all the more intresting is the transparency around it. Methodology is out in open and is crystal clear.
The 2009, PagalGuy B School Rankings, which went live just a while ago, will be done in two stages. In the first stage Pagalguy Forum members are asked to eliminate 15 B schools from list of B schools compiled by Pagalguy team. Next step is to rate the factors on which an aspirant or student would rate B school. Thats it, this is where stage 1 finishes off. Next stage would include a comprehensive survey and it will go live in July. If you are a Pagalguy member, go ahead and participate here and if you are not, sign up and participate.
