JMET 2009 : Analysis (Expected Sectional Cut-offs)

JMET 2009 which was recently concluded on one of the exam Sundays had some surprises in store for the the students. The exam, though not very popular, is one of the most feared. After XLRI’s XAT, this one is probably the second best organized exam for the simple reason that this one gives students lot of time to attempt questions and lot of clarity in preparations also. The syllabus is clearly spelt out which makes the preparation a bit easy.
As always various institute experts have attempted the paper and the experts have come up with probable sectional and overall cutoffs. Following is a comparisons of various sectional cutoffs. I guess cut-offs depend on expertise of experts, Time experts seem to be lacking a bit ![]()
| Section/Expected Cut-off | Time | Career Launcher | IMS* | PT Education* |
| Verbal Communication | 10-12 | 11-12 | 14-17 | 16+ |
| Quantitative Ability | 7-8 | 17-18 | 17-19 | 15+ |
| Data Interpretation | 8-10 | 15-16 | 18-20 | 16+ |
| Logical Reasoning | 8-10 | 12-13 | 12-15 | 14+ |
Career launcher has come with an e-OMR option, wherein students can upload their answers and get the scores instantly. Coupled with various predictions, one can have a fair idea about the probable calls. CL’s e-OMR is available at this link.
I will be writing another post on Overall Cut-offs. Subscribe to Road to MBA and stay updated.
