Last year JMET ranks were given in 4000’s , However, for a general category student, any rank beyond 1750 means your IIT MBA dream is over. Hold on, Hold on, I am not done yet. This year OBC quota is being implemented at the IIT’s. That means a 54% increase in IIT MBA intake. So, if your rank is less than 2500, congratulations because you might get that IIT MBA call.

They definitely affect your PI performance. KGP looks at entire profile so, there it plays an important role.

IIT’s givve out ranks. Anybody who falls out of the rank range criteria is said to be “Not Qualified” Last year ranks were given till 4000.

Can I apply to IITM also. Many are saying it is not possible to get with my rank. It is AIR 2266 ( mentioned above). But my acads are good. 91%(xth), 92%(xiith), 87%(graduation), work ex of 1.5 years….Do IITs give any weightage for these while calling for interview??

There is no harm in applying. Worst they can do is reject. You will waste only 500 bucks. With increased seats you never know what will happen.

Well depends. We will have to look at there application forms to come to any conclusion. IIT KGP and Madras do give profile based calls.

There is no harm in expecting. Par Dilli thodi door hai. Delhi might be difficult. You can expect calls from all other insti’s.

The quota implemented this year is 18% for the OBC’s bcz it is getting implemented in a phased manner.But still at 2335 i am trying my luk with IIT-R

IIT’s at some point last year decided upon implementing quota this year. Anyways, they are supposed to implement 18% quota from this year. This means, an increase of 18% total seats from last year. Total quota implementation would mean, IIT’s having around 80~90 seats. At 1760, Kanpur, Madras and roorkee seem to be a possibility.
