SNAP 2008 results : Answer key discrepencies and what next??

SNAP 2008-2009 results are out and as always, SNAP has managed to create confusion. This year there is a huge discrepancy in the scores as per answer keys that were published by various institutes and the actual SNAP 2008 scores. Generally, everybody is getting 8-12 marks less than what was expected. Somebody getting more marks will be treated as an exception, such is the extent of students getting less marks. Now what this will mean is that we will see lower cutoffs for the institutes as compared to originally predicted. Digg This story and push it up so that we are heard. Tweet this story. I dont see any reason to panic because there is nothing the student can do. Symbiosis has already safeguarded themselves.

  1. Everybody is getting lesser marks so that will pull down the cutoffs.
  2. SNAP 2008 website has a very clear cut policy on revaluations. This is what the website says,
    • Mere scoring in the SNAP Test does not entitle any right to the candidate to be called for further selection process [i.e. group discussion, personal interview] of admission to any Symbiosis Institute.
    • While adequate care is taken in ensuring that there are no mistakes in reading the answer sheet by the scanning machine, there is no provision of revaluation of the answer sheet of any candidate.
    • The scores published by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation.
  3. Another issue one must consider is that IMS, CL, TIME, PT answer keys are not the holy grail of answer keys. In all circumstances, test conducting agency will have the final say as far as correct answers are concerned.

So, people, rest in peace and Push SIU to release official answer key like CAT or XAT does.

    I got total score of 55, but when i checked my score with TIMEs answer key, it was 62.
    theres a huge difference.
    still feeling hopeful for any call………

    hey i checked my no on cl site it was 49.now my score is 35.5
    there is huge difference
    who is going to blame then to coaching

    I had a look at 5 different answer keys - my overall score was supposed to be 93.5 in the worst case, but I got only 82.5.

    I scored exactly 15 in QA according to 5 different answer keys, and the SNAP score card says I’ve scored only 11.5! There’s certainly a blunder.

    SNAP should put his answer key on his website. Such discrepancy must not happen. Right to Information (RTI) Act may be used for the transparency in the system.
