SCMHRD 2009 GD PI shortlist is out. It was released about 24 hours ago and in these 24 hours it has created quite a stir in student circles.Reason is nothing new, if you know track records of Symbiosis colleges. I am not saying that they play foul, but because they are a private college, every one gets a chance to point fingers at them. Accusers may be correct in pointing fingers but you never know.

I must admit, the results this year are strange. I have seen people scoring 67, with low sectionals and average extra curriculars landing up with a call. And on the other hand you have people who have decent workex, better than average extra curriculars and good acads left out of the next round. Of course, the argument is that these are profile based calls and takes into account the overall suitability of the candidate. And as a matter of fact, SCMHRD has released a document that talks about admission process. Fair enough. But what about the fact that you have so much variety in marking methodologies at graduation level. You hardly get 80%+ engineers from Nagpur or Pune university but getting 80% in IP university is not all that difficult. High time, AICTE thinks about this whole process.
