MBA 2010-2012, XAT »
IBSAT introduced essay component last year and XAT has had essays almost since eternity. XAT essays are generally out of the box and hence give you lot of scope to use your knowledge rather effectively. Whereas with IBSAT, essay topics are general in nature and are directly related to what is happening around you.
Last years essay topics in IBSAT, were rather straight forward and one was supposed to write an essay on one of the five topics given. 400 words essay in 30 minutes should not be too difficult. Following …

Ever since I wrote this post on TASMAC’s 14 point email, I have been receiving lot of queries from students who have been contemplating TASMAC. My only point is that while deciding to go for a foreign MBA, you should make sure that you take into account pay back period. Well, as far as TASMAC is concerned, they do have a facebook page, twitter handle and few videos on you tube to boast off.
There are not many following them on twitter, considering they are an education institute, so by default …

Having been involved with placements this year, I know how dear day zero slots are to corporate. It was all because of IIM’s that day zero got such importance and such hype. With media reporting every second of day zero, the concept gained more traction and acceptability. But it seems, day zero is going to be history. There were reports in Business Standard and Economic Times claiming that IIM A will be doing away with day zero concept.
Instead of day zero, they will form clusters of companies and those …

IBSAT 2009 is due this Sunday, 27th December 2009. The exam is, arguably, one of the easiest exams for entrance to B-school and has lots and lots of seats on offer, making entire competition way easier. Someone once said, “Good, Fast and Cheap. Pick any two”. I reckon he must have been referring to IBSAT exam. All said and done, IBSAT Hyderabad does offer some decent profiles and placements and so do their Mumbai and Gurgaon campuses.
The exam is on the easier side and holds 25% weightage in the final …

It seems SNAP 2009 cutoff this year is going a notch higher. In yesterdays post on SNAP 2009 analysis, I argued that cut off will go higher because paper was easier and GK will be the deciding factor. I was browsing through pagalguy forums and came across the usual SNAP 2009 poll. The poll had some interesting trends. Around 1500 plus have already voted in the poll and 30% think they are going to score above 100. Based on these trends, if you are anywhere below 100, you better strike …

CAT 2009, Featured »
One expected that they will scrap the CAT 2009 and go for a retest amidst reports of technical glitches as well as glitches in setting the questions for the exam. But they had something else in mind and yesterday they declared that the test was mostly OK except for 4% of the students who suffered because of technical glitches.
In.com, Network 18’s media portal, is now reporting that prometric’s CAT agreement is under the scanner. The report quotes IIM-A director’s statement which clearly indicates that prometric is all set to experience …
